2015 Miss Nevada USA and Miss Nevada Teen USA Crowned
The 2015 Miss Nevada USA and Miss Nevada Teen USA pageant took place Sunday night, November 23 at the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus. The pageant featured more than 40 contestants who competed in swimsuit, evening gown and interview.
In the end, the judges’ picked Miss Chateau USA Brittany McGowan as Miss Nevada USA 2015 and Miss Clark County Teen USA Geovanna Hilton was chosen Miss Nevada Teen USA 2015. The two new beauty queens were crowned by the previous titleholders, Miss Nevada USA 2014 Nia Sanchez and Miss Nevada Teen USA 2014, Alexa Taylor.

2014 VEGAS ROCKS! Magazine Music Awards at The Pearl
At the same time the American Music Awards were being telecast on TV, the fifth annual VEGAS ROCKS! Magazine Music Awards 2014 took place Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at 8 p.m. at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort. The event was co-hosted by the “Publishing Queen of Rock ‘n' Roll,”, VEGAS ROCKS! Magazine Publisher/ Founder/ CEO SALLY STEELE who celebrated VEGAS ROCKS! Magazine’s 10th Anniversary as the first-ever all rock publication produced in Las Vegas.

This year’s theme of A CELEBRATION OF ’80s ROCK! honored and featured some of the most legendary artists in the music business.

Local musician/drummer LJ Harness presented Leona X with the award for Best Las Vegas Rock Band; Stratosphere headliner Frankie Moreno presented Chaotic Resemblance with the Vegas Stars of Tomorrow award; Otis Day (of Animal House fame) and rocker John Payne presented Dope Throat with the Hollywood Rocks award; Frank DiMino of Angel presented Smells Like Nirvana with the award for Best Rock Tribute Band; Rudy Scarzo (Dio/Ozzy/Quiet Riot) introduced Wes Cage (son of actor Nicholas Cage) as winner of the Best New Artist award. Flavor Fav presented Danny “The Count” Koker with Ambassador of Rock award; the cast of Counting Cars presented Dane Davis Band with Best of Vegas award. John 5 (Rob Zombie/Marilyn Manson) presented Michael Anthony (VAN HALEN/ CHICKEN FOOT) with the “Inspirational Icon” award; Music Producer Pat Thrall presented TOTO founding members Steve Lukather and David Paitch with the “Music Lifetime Legend Inspiration” award; Danny Koker of Counting Cars presented STEPHEN PEARCY (RATT) with “Voice of ’80s Metal” award; Devil City Angels featuring: RIKKI ROCKETT (POISON),TRACII GUNS (L.A. GUNS) ERIC BRITTINGHAM (CINDERELLA) and BRANDON GIBBS (CHEAP THRILL) received “Best New Superstar Union 2014” award; Jizzy Pearl of Quiet Riot presented Marq Torien with the “’80s Rock Survivor” award for the BULLET BOYS and Jason Green presented Great White with the Special Recognition award.
The awards show included a tribute to the late rocker Wayne Static who died on November 1, 2014, performances by Count's 77, Devil City Angels, Great White, Wes Cage Band, Michael Anrhony, John 5 and Blas Elias (Slaughter) and a special all-star celebrity jam at the show's finale.

The New Tropicana Unveils JFK Exhibition
On November 22, the 51st anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination, The New Tropicana Las Vegas held a grand opening event of the JFK Exhibition introducing visitors to a unique exhibition of artifacts from a historic time in 20th century America.

On display for the first time in America are some of the most meaningful, iconic memorabilia. Part museum and part educational, this interactive experience features more than 30 exhibits on display including two JFK limousines, the Boeing 707 Air Force One jet fuselage outfitted exactly the way it did on November 22, 1963, a full-size replica of the White House’s Oval Office, where visitors can sit behind the president’s desk; replicas of five famous chairs used by Presidents Lincoln, John F. Kennedy and Franklin D. Roosevelt; a rotary phone from the suite at the hotel in Texas that President Kennedy used to make his final call, personal items belonging to the President and his wife, First Lady, Jacqueline Kennedy including clothing, watches, pens, signed notes; storyboards from President Kennedy's life; several gowns worn by America's first ladies, and much more. Knowledgeable guides will also be present to give tours and answer questions.
In attendance at the Grand Opening which included several local celebrities VIP's were Fred Harmon, Chief Marketing Officer of the New Tropicana Las Vegas and Jim Warlick, owner of the JFK Legacy collection, who has has spent a lifetime collecting presidential artifacts. After quoting JFK in his historical speech, “It is not what the country can do for you, it is what you can do for the country”, Warlick proudly added, “We have done that by bringing this exhibition to you.”

To kick off the holiday season, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus traded in their sleigh for a ride on VOODOO ZIP LINE at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on Monday, Dec. 1. Before they zipped the Strip, Santa spread some holiday cheer by handing out candy canes to guests at the attraction. Following, the jolly duo soared down the zip line nearly 500 feet above the city while waving at onlookers.

E! reality star and Las Vegas Strip headliner HOLLY MADISON will host Opportunity Village’s Las Vegas Great Santa Run on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Marking the event’s 10th anniversary, Holly will welecome and join thousands of Santa lookalikes in Downtown Las Vegas for the nonprofit’s largest annual fundraiser. Madison will be joined by male revue icons, The Chippendales, who will participate as the run’s Grand Marshals. Madison will then lead the runners to the starting line in a sassy, hot pink Cadillac driven by none other than Elvis Presley. The Chippendales will await her at the start of the race, where they will don their famous bowties and cufflinks to let the runners know when it’s time to “get on your mark, get set, and go!”
SCHOOL OF ROCK is hosting a mid-seaon SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER AND CONCERT, December 6 from 1 – 4 p.m AT HARD ROCK LIVE ON THE LAS VEGAS STRIP. Open to the public, the fundraiser will feature a wide range of rock 'n roll performances from some of Las Vegas' most skilled young musicians. Rose, best known for her role as Countess of Rothes in the feature film "Titanic," was very friendly to the on-site staff as she explored the gallery and learned about the ill-fated “Ship of Dreams.” Afterwards she and her family headed to Bodies...The Exhibition, where they explored more than 200 human bodies and specimens.
