Local Las Vegas-Clark County Libraries Ring in Holiday Cheer with December Events

 

Las Vegas, NV – Las Vegas-Clark County libraries are spreading holiday cheer with a series of events and experiences during the month of December. Branches across the valley are hosting activities including:

 

Paris Chansons – Christmas in Paris

West Charleston Library – Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Windmill Library – Thursday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.

Whitney Library – Friday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.

Paris Chansons returns to Las Vegas with a celebration of French and international music with a holiday twist. The band will perform favorites from Aznavour, Dassin, Piaf, Macias to Zaz with holiday-themed songs and surprises.

 

Mariachi Winter Festival

Clark County Library – Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.

The annual Mariachi Winter Festival will feature the best and brightest groups from local middle and high schools playing holiday classics and favorites with a mariachi twist.

 

Sundae + Mr. Goessl – A Very Vintage Holiday

West Charleston Library – Friday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Centennial Hills Library – Saturday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m.

Awarded Best Jazz Act of 2017 from Seattle Weekly, husband/wife duo Kate Voss and Jason Goessl incorporate humor, nostalgia and a vintage twist to their music.

 

Las Vegas Brass Band Holiday Concert

Clark County Library – Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.

The British-style Las Vegas Brass Band will be led under the direction of Dr. Richard McGee, presenting traditional and modern arrangements of holiday classics.

 

A Jazzy Holiday Concert with Nik at Nite

Laughlin Library – Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m.

Sahara West Library – Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.

Nikolas “Nik at Nite” Mastrangelo and his band will perform heartfelt, jazz renditions of holiday classics for audiences of all ages to get into the holiday spirit.

 

Las Vegas Classical Guitar Ensemble Holiday Concert

Summerlin Library – Saturday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m.

Audiences can take a relaxing break from the holiday hustle and bustle with an afternoon of relaxing acoustic music from The Las Vegas Classical Guitar Ensemble. The ensemble will play music ranging from the Renaissance to present day.

 

Nevada Chamber Orchestra

Summerlin Library – Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m.

Families from across the valley can feel the magic of the season with The Nevada Chamber Orchestra playing festive tunes and classical favorites. Carolers from the Vegas City Opera will offer entertainment in the lobby before the show to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

 

Kwanzaa 2019

West Las Vegas Library – Saturday, Dec. 28 and Sunday, Dec. 29 from

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The two-day cultural celebration of African values, cultures and community will feature a marketplace bazaar, activities for children, interactive yoga workshops and mentorship opportunities to spread community empowerment and traditions of Kwanzaa.
