To celebrate Carlos Santana’s brand new album, Clive Davis and Santana hosted a private VIP listening event at Vanity Nightclub inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Aug. 25. At the event, the duo unveiled Santana’s new album titled, Guitar Heaven… The Greatest Guitar Classics of All by playing eight tracks. Three of the tracks played included collaborations with india.arie, Gavin Rossdale and Chris Daughtry, who were also there to support the album’s launch. Other attending celebrities included Olivia Harrison, wife to the late Beatles member, George Harrison; Santana band members; Bill Walton NBA Hall of Famer; Matt Serletic and Howard Benson track producers of Guitar Heaven…; Mary Wilson of the Supremes; Terry Fator ventriloquist and headliner at The Mirage Hotel & Casino, and industry VIPs.
Later that night at The Joint, Santana treated fans to a special performance of Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through The Hits. In celebration of the official album launch, Guitar Heaven…, superstar guest vocalists india.arie, Chris Daughtry and Gavin Rossdale performed songs from the new album alongside Santana. Of the guest vocalists, india.arie took the stage first to sing the album’s first single, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” She then did a surprise tribute of Billie Holiday’s song “God Bless The Child.” Later that evening, Chris Daughtry had fans on their feet when he performed “Photograph” and Gavin Rossdale entertained the crowd with his rendition of “Bang A Gong.” Rossdale also sang “She’s Not There.” Sighted among the celebrity filled crowd showing their support for Santana was Rick Harrison, from History Channel’s reality TV show, Pawn Stars.
