Following the show, which received a standing ovation from a full-house of enthusiastic guests, the stars and their celebrity and VIPs headed to Chateau Nightclub, where Wilkinson was surprised with a Champagne bottle-shaped cake to commemorate her upcoming birthday, Monday, June 12.

"Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man" is a sex-affirmative, coming-of-age show, in which Wilkinson stars as Robyn, the bookish and demure host of a university authors forum. Featured author Dan Anderson, played by Rodriguez, brings Robyn out of her professorial shell by encouraging her and audience members to embrace their naughtiest instincts with the help of Stefan, her hunky stage assistant, portrayed by Milton.

The 75-minute production combines comedy, charisma, and a lot of sass to create a memorable evening perfect for everyone from couples looking to spice up their routines to groups interested in a girls' - or guys' - night out. With eight performances a week in an intimate theater just off the casino floor, the show is highly interactive and draws upon audience participation to demonstrate the most outrageous and hilarious techniques.

A co-production of Adam Steck's SPI Entertainment with Matt Murphy and Shawn Nightingale, "Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man" takes the motto "practice makes perfect" to a whole new level. Under the direction of Tim Drucker, the show becomes the ultimate adults-only party, promising to leave its audience with intimate bedroom insight.

"Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man" performs nightly (dark Wednesdays) at 7 p.m. with additional 11 p.m. shows Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets are now on sale and start at $39 (plus taxes and fees). A VIP ticket upgrade is available and includes a meet-and-greet and souvenir photo with the stars.

Vegas Vickie Bids Farewell to Fremont Street Experience to make way for New Resort-Casino Project

Tuesday morning, June 13, Vegas Vickie – the iconic kicking cowgirl neon sign who welcomed guests from near and far to the world-famous Fremont Street Experience – was lowered from her perch overlooking Downtown Las Vegas. Her removal is an early phase of construction for a new resort-casino project that will transform the west end of Downtown Las Vegas’ Fremont Street by developer Derek Stevens.

Stevens’ journey in Downtown Las Vegas began with transforming the former Fitzgerald’s property into the D Las Vegas, and giving Golden Gate – Vegas’ most historic casino – its first major expansion. He purchased land occupied by Las Vegas Club casino in 2014 to continue his vision of revitalizing the west side of Fremont Street Experience and later acquired Granite Gaming Group properties in 2016. The land for these properties will be used in the development of Downtown Las Vegas’ first resort-casino to be built from the ground up in decades.

“I love Downtown Las Vegas and want to continuously introduce new and exciting entertainment to our visitors,” said Stevens. “We’re experiencing a modern renaissance in this part of our city, and Vegas Vickie’s departure allows us to move forward with creative concepts and projects. But don’t worry, this won’t be the last you see of her.”

GRIMALDI'S PIZZERIA recently invited several members of the media, including yours truly, to sample their newly launched seasonal SUMMER SELECTIONS MENU featuring savory barbecue flavors, berries, and specialty cocktails at the South Rainbow location: 7155 S Rainbow Blvd, Ste. 125.

Being on a gluten free diet, I was thrilled to discover that among their fresh summer fares are several 'gluten friendly'*  dishes including the kale chopped salad which is made with a mix of kale, romaine lettuce, red onions, cucumber, slivers of Italian cheese, sun dried tomatoes, kalamata olives tossed in a lemon vinaigrette, and the seasonal selection of spinach and strawberry salad, both of which are absolutely delicious and available for a limited time.

As for pizza, I have visited several pizzerias that offer gluten friendly pizzas, but unfortunately, I have been disappointed and turned off by how the crust seems to have, what I can only describe as, the unappetizing texture of cardboard. Grimaldi's, on the other hand, has gotten it right. I sampled gluten friendly versions of two of their pizzas; the Garden, topped with fresh roma tomatoes, sliced onions, mushrooms and black olives and the Traditional cheese, topped with just the right amount of their home made sauce and mozzarella and basil.  Not only was each bite pleasing to my palate, the texture of the thin crust was perfect: mouth watering smooth, crispy, but not burnt, at the edge, just as it should be.   In fact, you would never know it is gluten free.  Hats off to Chef S. Cory Lattuca, for making customer satisfaction a top priority. He has discovered the secret to preparing the gluten free dough, and it is so good that odds are, no one can tell the difference between the regular and gluten friendly pizzas. No doubt, this food lover will be returning to Grimaldi's for another tasteful experience in the not too distant future.
