What to do...Where to go...Who to see...in Las Vegas, ROUND THE CLOCK!
Idaho The Comedy Musical. Yes Idaho is a state. And now, it is a tongue in cheek play on words and a musical comedy debuting in Las Vegas. It is a little naughty, a big bit bawdy, and two potato sacks full of fun. You don't even have to read any further except that I suggest you run right down to the Smith Center in Las Vegas and see the brand spanking new show Idaho The Comedy Musical playing through Saturday, July 17, 2016.
More than 3 years after ending his run at Wynn Las Vegas, the world's most successful solo artist, country music superstar Garth Books has returned to Sin City. This go around its all about bringing his World Tour, in which he is joined by wife, fellow award winning country singer Trisha Yearwood, to the T Mobile Arena for six performances, beginning Friday evening, June 24.

Garth Brooks had friends in low places, high places, and all over the place when he debuted his World Tour concert at the new multi-level 20,000-seat T-Mobile Arena on June 24th. Performing six nights at the venue through July 4, the entertainer is also videotaping the concert for release later on. His first tour in 16 years since leaving the scene to be home with his children, not wanting to be on the road until his last daughter left for college, he appeared at a press conference before his opening night performance with his beautiful wife of 11 years, country star Trisha Yearwood. Always by Garth’s side in life and on stage, Tricia also did a book signing of her brand new cookbook on Saturday, June 25th at the arena.
Chris Phillips, the 50ish blond haired sort of rocker is letting the Vintage back out. The big band and show music that my generation loves. Using the name of Zowie Bowie, Chris is known for his Red Rock residency, appearances on the Third Street stage on Fremont Street, and other gigs around town in torn jeans and current music that would have some folks using earplugs. But go to the newly refurbished Classy Grandview Lounge at SouthPoint and catch his 10 p.m. every other Saturday night through August. The $15 ticket is well worth it to see a tuxedoed Chris backed by a ten piece band singing “Get me to the Church on Time” or “Who knows where or when” or - “This Could be the Start of Something Big”.
LVRTC columnist Dianne Davis enjoyed an interview with Merlin Award recipient Magician Tommy Wind on the stage of the Tommy Wind Theater on the Las Vegas Strip on June 20 2016. Tommy joins an illustrious list of previous winners.
The recent Garth Brooks World Tour event was my first time to visit T-Mobile Arena which opened in April, 2016. Wow was I impressed. The 20,000-seat venue, located on the Las Vegas Strip between New York-New York and Monte Carlo is a joint venture between AEG and MGM Resorts International. Toshiba Plaza an adjacent two-acre outdoor entertainment space, features performance stages, a variety of video screens and other interactive content and display areas.
Two new restaurants recently opened inside Green Valley Ranch Resort in Henderson. The first, Borracha Mexican Cantina, is a lively and spicy Spanish restaurant featuring a themed décor that pays homage to the dead. Festival skulls watch over guests while a hand-painted floor, dark wooden beams and a wraparound graffiti mural by famed Mexican artist Oscar Flores brings life to the space.
