Terry Fator and MGM Resorts International Honor the Public Education Foundation
Sunday night, August 1, ventriloquist/singer/impressionist Terry Fator and MGM Resorts International honored The Public Education Foundation (PEF) with a special performance of Terry Fator: Ventriloquism in Concert inside The Terry Fator Theatre at The Mirage.
The event started out with a lavish red carpet outside the theatre. Celebrity arrivals who showed their support of The PEF included: Terry Fator, Frank Caliendo, Recycled Percussion, Vinny (spokesperson for New York-New York Hotel & Casino), Frank Marino, Josh Strickland, Amy Davidson, and Grandma Lee. Everyone was all smiles as they posed for photos and chatted with nearby fans. Also walking the red carpet was Phyllis A. James, executive vice president of special counsel, litigation/chief diversity officer of MGM Resorts International and Judi Steele, president and chief professional officer of The PEF.
Fator performed his incredible routine for a full house who gave him a long standing ovation at the conclusion of the evening’s performance. Immediately afterwards, Fator took to the mic and thanked everyone for attending the show in support of The PEF and said how grateful he was that their purchase of that evening's ticket would benefit a great cause in the community. The performer then welcomed James up to the stage where she acknowledged and thanked Fator for his support of The PEF this year and discussed the importance of improving public education in Southern Nevada. To help the cause, James then presented a $350,000 check to Steele who graciously accepted the donation and thanked Fator and MGM Resorts International for their incredible support.
