Ben & Jerry’s 32nd Annual “Free Cone Day,” held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 was an overwhelming success. More than a whopping 10,500 cones (or approximately 490 gallons) were given away between the District at Green Valley Ranch, Galleria at Sunset, and for the first time, Sunset Station Hotel & Casino locations, Ben & Jerry’s in-kind donation to these three organizations is equivalent to approximately $37,000 for the one day event.
As in previous years, local celebrity scoopers were on hand at the Henderson locations to benefit Nevada Community Learning Centers (formerly Classroom on Wheels), Lied Discovery Children’s Museum, and newcomer St. Jude’s Ranch for Children. The three organizations raised more than $2,500 combined over the course of the day, topping last years figures.
Angelica Bridges and the ladies of FANTASY, magician Nathan Burton, comedian Vinnie Favorito, Human Nature, Vegas.com President Howard Lefkowitz, Thom Sesma (Scar in Disney’s THE LION KING), Elvis impersonator Harry Shahoian and performers from “Thunder from Down Under.” took time out of their busy schedule to scoop ice cream at The District at Green Valley Ranch location.
Ben & Jerry’s Galleria at Sunset location featured interactive building displays from Lied Discovery Children’s Museum with NASCAR’s Taylor Barton and ”X” Burlesque’s “X” Girls lending a helping hand.
