NEW YEARS EVE ENTERTAINMENT 

 

HEADLINER: Generations of Rock and Roll with Michael Cavanaugh

Michael Cavanaugh returns to South Point Hotel’s Grand Ballroom after his sold-out celebrated New Year’s Eve show in 2015. Known for being handpicked by Billy Joel himself, Cavanaugh has had a successful career on and off Broadway. Throughout the evening, Cavanaugh will help guests ring in the new year as he performs the greatest rock ‘n’ roll hits from every generation. Tickets for Michael Cavanaugh’s performance include a four-course dinner, open bar, party favors, and a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight. To kick off the evening, the doo wop sounds of The Alley Cats will get the party started from 8 to 10:40 p.m.

 

New Year’s at Noon: The Alley Cats

1 p.m.; Doors at 12 p.m.

Tickets: $19

 

The Alley Cats return to the South Point Showroom for “New Year’s at Noon” with the group’s signature doo wop hits. Tickets include party favors, balloon drop and a champagne toast. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the ‘50s iconic music and signature songs such as “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Come Go with Me” and “Goodnight Sweetheart.” 

 

Wes Winters and Vanessa LeGrand

Wes Winters performs from 5 to 7 p.m.

Vanessa LeGrand performs from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Free and open to the public.

Guests must be 21 years or older. 

 

Wes Winters and Vanessa LeGrand will give guests an evening they will never forget as they look back at 2017 and celebrate the beginning of the year to come. Guests will dance the night away in the Grandview Lounge to all the hits from the past year, along with Winters’ and LeGrand’s jazzy lounge favorites.

South Point Showroom will toast to 2018 with Gregg Austin and his Rockin’ M Town beats. Tickets include two drinks, party favors, a balloon drop and a champagne toast at midnight. Guests will enjoy the everlasting sounds that forever altered the world of music as they look forward to what’s to come in the new year. Guests can expect to hear Austin’s expert renditions of “I’ll Be Around,” “Just My Imagination,” “My Girl” and more.

 

‘80s Night with The SPAZMATICS

Guests must be 21 years or older 

 

The SPAZMATICS will dazzle guests with a fantastic New Year’s Eve celebration in South Point Hotel’s Exhibit Hall with the best ‘80s dance in Las Vegas. Tickets include an open bar, party favors, hors d’oeuvres, a balloon drop and a champagne toast at midnight. Guests will enjoy The SPAZMATICS’ world class musicianship, tight choreography and contagious energy as they dance the night away to the top hits from the ‘80s.

 


 

Frankie Moreno

Named “Las Vegas Headliner of the Year” three times, South Point Showroom welcomes Frankie Moreno to the stage. At just the age of 10 years old, Moreno made his debut on CBS Star Search. Singer, showman, songwriter and musician, Moreno will entertain the audience with his highly contagious music and playful stage antics.

 

Miss Nevada USA 

Sunday, Jan. 7

Preliminary Round at 2 p.m.; Finals at 7 p.m.

Tickets for preliminary round are available for $25, finals are available for $55

 

The Miss Nevada USA pageant comes to the South Point Showroom where women from across Nevada will compete to move on to the Miss America 2018 pageant, and their chance at representing their state against 49 others. Nevada residents will compete in different categories highlighting talents, beauty, interests, and contribution to the community.

 

Ricky Nelson Remembered

Friday, Jan. 12 – Sunday, Jan. 14

7:30 p.m.; Doors at 6:30 p.m.

The South Point Showroom welcomes Ricky Nelson Remembered. Ricky Nelson, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 is credited with the founding of the country rock music genre. His sons, Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, carry on the musical tradition of their late father as the group, Ricky Nelson Remembered. Guests will enjoy three nights of nostalgia as Matthew and Gunnar perform their father’s hits such as “Hello Mary Lou,” “Travelin’ Man,” “Garden Party” and many more.

 

Norm Macdonald

Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20 

7:30 p.m.; Doors at 6:30 p.m.

“Saturday Night Live” veteran, Norm Macdonald, will grace the South Point Showroom stage for an evening filled with his hilarious standup routine. Known for his iconic roles on ABC’s “Roseanne,” ABC’s “The Drew Carey Show” and NBC’s “NewsRadio,” Macdonald will give guests a comedy-filled night they will never forget.

 

Capitol Steps 

Friday, Jan. 26 – Sunday, Jan. 28 

7:30 p.m.; Doors at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are available and start at $35

 

The Capitol Steps is a traveling, theatrical performing group like no other with an entire show that revolves around political satire and "mocking" the democracy. Guests will be treated to a weekend of examining the political climate today with a funny and satirical twist. 

 

Artie Lange

One of the most sought-after comedians in the business, the South Point Showroom welcomes Artie Lange. After having started his comedy career in the first season of FOX’s “MadTV,” Lange went on to be the creator and co-host of FOX News Radio’s “The Artie Lange Show,” where he provided colorful commentary on sports and entertainment news with riveting and hilarious celebrity interviews. As a regular on “The Howard Stern Show” for five years, Lange has become an icon in the industry with his raw and candid comedic style.

 

Atlantic City Boys 

Friday, Feb. 9 – Sunday, Feb. 11

The Atlantic City Boys will take over the South Point Showroom with their old school sounds that are sure to have guests dancing and singing along all night. A night with this four-person band combines both Broadway and classic hits with songs by the Four Seasons, Bee Gees, 60s rock ‘n’ roll, Rat Pack, Beach Boys, Beatles and more. 

 

Herman’s Hermit’s Starring Peter Noone

Hailing from the United Kingdom, the South Point Showroom welcomes back famed British pop group, Herman’s Hermits, starring Peter Noone. Guests will be transported to the time of classic rock and pop sounds as they enjoy a night filled with the band's classic hits, including “I’m Into Something Good,” “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,” “Can You Hear My Heartbeat” and “Just A Little Bit Better.”

 

Dennis DeYoung: The Music of Styx

As the founding member of the rock group Styx, Dennis DeYoung has entertained fans for over five decades and will bring the band’s celebrated music to life to the South Point Showroom. Now touring with a new rock band dedicated to the legacy of Styx, DeYoung will perform hits such as “Lady,” “Come Sail Away,” “Best of Times,” “Mr. Roboto,” “Show Me The Way,” “Babe” and more.

 

Illusionist Rick Thomas

World-class magician and illusionist Rick Thomas will dazzle guests at the South Point Showroom. For the past 15 years, Thomas has performed 600 shows a year and has hosted world tours that span five continents. Guests can expect a performance that blends innovative illusions, magic, music and dance for an evening that will leave guests in awe at the end of the show.

Tower of Power takes over the South Point Showroom as they keep guests dancing along all night long with their unique entertainment style. The Lettermen

The Lettermen return to the South Point Showroom for another music-filled weekend as they wow guests with their impeccable harmonies and dance moves. The Lettermen give guests a weekend of shows the whole family can enjoy and they will be blown away by the group's unique variety of voices as they blend into perfect harmonies. Fans will enjoy an evening filled with The Lettermen’s top hits including “When I Fall in Love,” “The Way You Look Tonight,” “Goin’ Out of My Head” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You."

 

Donny Edwards: The Next Big Thing To The King

Donny Edwards returns to rock the South Point Showroom stage with his show, “The Next Big Thing to the King." Edwards will showcase his Elvis Presley style singing, dancing and acting for an unparalleled tribute to The King. Edwards takes guests through the icon's music career with his chart toppers such as “Can't Help Falling in Love,” “Hound Dog,” “Burning Love” and “Love Me Tender.”

Wes Winters – Friday and Saturday Throughout December and January
Wes Winters takes over the Grandview Lounge and will dazzle audiences with his exceptional piano playing and vocal abilities on Friday and Saturday nights in December and January from 6 to 9 p.m. Winters will treat guests to a night of smooth, lounge style jazz, allowing audiences to unwind one moment and sing along the next. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Vanessa LeGrand – Friday Throughout December 

Vanessa LeGrand showcases her many different talents and song styles for audiences every Friday night throughout December in the Grandview Lounge from 9 to 11:59 p.m. Music fans of all types will enjoy LeGrand's performance as she switches from lounge-style jazz to classic country and rock 'n roll sounds. This event is free and open to the public. 

 

“Dirty at 12:30” with Gabe Lopez – Friday Nights Throughout December and January

Gabe Lopez and the South Point present “The Dirty at 12:30” inside the South Point Grandview Lounge every Friday night throughout December and January from 12:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. Prior to the show, guests are welcome to enjoy live music from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. in the Grandview Lounge as well. This show is not for guests that are easily offended and cannot handle dirty raw comedy. Special guests who have appeared on the “Dirty” stage include Ralphie May, Joey Diaz, Joe Rogan, Carlos Mencia and many more. This show is free and open to guests 21 or older with a valid form of ID.

Gregg Austin’s M Town – Tuesday Nights Throughout January

The sound of Motown invades the South Point Showroom every Tuesday throughout January from 8 to 11 p.m. Guests will experience an evening hosted by Gregg Austin while enjoying the everlasting sounds that dramatically altered the world of music. General admission tickets are available for $10 at the front door and include one complimentary drink. Reserved seating will also be available for $15 and includes two complimentary drinks with purchase.

 

Déjà Vu – Wednesday Nights Throughout December and January

The South Point Showroom hosts Déjà Vu every Wednesday throughout December and January from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests will experience an evening of pure excitement as they dance through the decades. All guests must be 21 or older with a valid form of ID and present a South Point Slot Club Card. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. General admission tickets are available for $5 at the front door and includes a complimentary drink. Reserved seating is also available for $10 and includes two complimentary drinks. 

 

Dennis Bono Show – Thursday Afternoons Throughout December and January

South Point’s Dennis Bono Show offers guests a wide variety of amusement in the South Point Showroom every Thursday throughout December and January. Featuring appearances with established celebrities from the world of entertainment, Bono’s interaction with his guests creates a one-of-a-kind performance. Doors open at 1 p.m. This show is free and open to the public.

 

SPAZMATICS – Saturday Nights Throughout December and January

The SPAZMATICS will party away to the best of the 1980s in the South Point Showroom every Saturday night throughout December and January. Tickets are available for $5 or guests can purchase a “SPAZMATICS Party Package” for $10 including one ticket, one drink and reserved seating. Doors open at 10 p.m. General admission tickets are available to purchase for $5 as well as VIP tickets. All guests must be 21 or older with a valid form of ID.
