In celebration of Restaurant Week, Chef Kerry Simon hosted an event at KGB: Kerry’s Gourmet Burgers at Harrah’s Las Vegas Wednsday night, September 1 to benefit Three Square. The soiree drew a packed house, raising enough money to provide 2,343 meals to locals who look to Three Square for assistance. Rock ‘n’ roll Chef Simon mingled with guests as they sampled his Iron Chef sliders, popcorn shrimp, BLT chicken sliders, Captain Crunch milkshakes, cotton candy, assorted cupcakes and specialty cocktails, among other offerings. The evening wrapped up with a raffle with items donated by Stoli, AEG Live, Macallan, Amstel Light, Cointreau, Terlato Wines International and others, with all the money going directly to local charity Three Square.

Celebrity roaster and sharp-tongued comedian Vinnie Favorito has extended his contract at Flamingo Las Vegas for an additional six years after the end of his current contract which runs until 2011. Known nationwide for his masterful ability to improvise and crack off-the-cuff jokes, Favorito will continue his run in Bugsy’s Cabaret at Flamingo through 2017.

9 Cares, a 9 Group program and the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation teamed up to collect school supply donations for children at Chester T. Sewell Elementary school from July 20 – Aug. 20. The back-to-school drive allowed 9 Cares to fill backpacks for underprivileged children, who do not have the basic necessities needed for learning. The volunteer effort collected 200 backpacks filled with basic school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks, crayons, markers and glue sticks.

Kids & Cops, a program of United Way of Southern Nevada, was awarded a $45,000 grant from the MGM Resorts Foundation, the employee charitable giving program for MGM Resorts. The grant will be used to supply law enforcement officials with Walmart vouchers to help children in need. This year, the program will be expanded to include the Henderson Police Department. Kids & Cops enables officers to assist children from low-income families by providing them with $5 McDonald’s and $25 Walmart vouchers for the purchase of basic necessities such as a hot meal, clothing, backpacks, school supplies and hygiene items. United Way’s Kids & Cops partners with three southern Nevada police departments, including North Las Vegas, Henderson and Metro.

Throughout the month of September, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at the Luxor is giving guests a chance to rediscover the fateful journey of Titanic’s maiden voyage and put the findings to the test in a trivia challenge. Remaining a mystery to scientists and historians for 73 years, the wreckage was finally discovered 2.5 miles down in the dark waters off the coast of Newfoundland, 25 years ago, on September 1, 1985. To celebrate this milestone, guests can learn more about the Ship’s secrets and treasures by reading information displayed throughout the Exhibition galleries and answering trivia questions on a scratch-off card. Guests who answer all questions correctly can return the card to the gift shop for a Titanic keepsake and to be entered to win a grand prize. Scratch-off cards and gifts available while supplies last. Tickets to Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition are priced at $27 for adults, $25 for seniors and $20 for children 4 – 12 years of age. The Exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with last admission at 9 p.m.

Todd Rexx brings his style of comedy to The Lounge inside Palms Casino Resort where he will be joined by other comedians. Todd Rexx and Friends performs each Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday, September 1. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $20 for booth seating.

Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel will host a Latin dance event - Los Grandes Bailes (The Grand Dances) Friday, September 17 at 9 p.m. The evening’s festivities will include live performances by Banda Zacatecana de Tony Flores, First Prize winners at the War of the Bands (Guerra de Las Bandas) in 2009, and El Conjuto Peña Blanca, First Prize winners at the War of the Bands in 2010. The 31st annual San Gennaro Feast will take place at the Silverton Lodge and Casino. Remedy’s, a popular tavern chain, will sponsor and host the 3rd Annual “Kennedy Kares” fundraising event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at it’s St. Rose Parkway location Saturday, September 18 from 1 to 5 p.m.The management of Remedy’s invites the public to celebrate Kennedy’s third birthday and make a donation to St. Jude. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction with items including: 2 round trip tickets to London; a guitar autographed by rocker Sammy Hagar; golf, hotel and restaurant certificates and a mini-video poker machine, among many others.

The Super Run Classic Car show celebrates its 11th anniversary, September 23-26. Ricky Nelson Remembered starring the rock icon’s sons, Matthew & Gunner Nelson, and rising country music star, Trent Tomlinson, will headline this year’s entertainment at the 11th annual Super Run Classic Car Show. Ricky Nelson Remembered will be performed on Friday, September 24. The opening act will be local blues group, John Earl & The Boogieman Band. Trent Tomlinson will take the stage Saturday, September 25. Local country artists, T.J. Weaver, and Against the Grain, will open for Tomlinson. Thursday night, August 26 comedian Andrew Dice Clay hosted for TAO Worship Thursday’s Bump n Grind competition. Clay arrived with wife Valerie and comedienne Eleanor Kerrigan. After walking the red carpet they fueled up on favorites at TAO before heading to the nightclub to start the competition. More than thirty one ladies entered, with Amanda L’Hommedieu taking home the $5000 grand prize, which she said she will be using to furnish her new condo.

Earlier at Rain Nightclub, Keibler hosted the official Superdraft after-party. At Palms Pool & Bungalows, Grammy-nominated artist Snoop Dogg (real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus) headlined the Superdraft Tailgate Party.

N9NE Steakhouse hosted to the stars who came in to enjoy dinner before their night of revelry. Kutcher and Demi dined with a large group of about 20 friends including Masterson, Frye, Elizabeth, Phelps and Keibler.

In the private dining room, Fantasia dined with Gavin Maloof and friends. Phelps stopped by to say hello. Fantasia was also seen in the kitchen signing Executive Chef Barry S. Dakake’s famous Shakedown door.

Earlier that afternoon, Ditch Fridays at Palms Pool & Bungalows hosted to a number of celebrity guests including: rapper Warren G (real name Warren Griffin III); sportscaster Scott Van Pelt who sat at a cabana with five friends; Phelps who came in solo to check out the scene; rapper Kurupt (real name Ricardo Emmanuel Brown); and rapper Shwayze (real name Aaron Smith) who performed to the Ditch crowd.

Reality TV star Brody Jenner, who turned 27 on August 21st celebrated at LAVO with his brother Brandon and group of guy friends. After dinner they headed up to the nightclub. He politely posed for photos with fans, but professed his love for only one person, his brother Brandon. Jenner was surprised with a Gimme Some Sugar cake that was a replica of his prized ’68 Dodge Charger.

Also at N9NE Steakhouse was MMA fighter Roy Nelson who dined with seven others to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday. Comedian and actor Paul Montgomery “Pauly” Shore dined with a friend. Later that evening, Playboy Club hosted its Playboy Club Model Search and Shore was the celebrity judge. Shore announced Jamillette Gaxiola as the winner of Miss Playboy Club September 2010. Gaxiola is a model and lives in Las Vegas.

Real World: New Orleans star Ryan Leslie brought his wild side to McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino as he partied the night away and hosted a Real World-worthy back to school bash. Later in the evening, Leslie jumped on top of McFadden’s mahogany bar and judged a girl-on-girl kissing contest.

Sunday night a group of former contestants from ABC’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette gathered at LAVO at DJ Vice paid tribute to Michael Jackson. Newlyweds Jesse Csinsak and Ann Leuders were joined by Vienna Girardi, Brian Westendorf, John Hardesty, Natalie Getz and Nikki Kaapke in the club. The group all donned silver gloves in honor of the King of Pop.

Also spotted taking in the scene was Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Recording artist, William Jonathan Drayton Jr. better known by his stage name, Flavor Flav, and a guest came into Nove Italiano inside Palms Casino Resort.

UFC fighter Randy Couture and his wife dined at Morton's The Steakhouse. Randy was kind enough to pose for a picture to be hung on Morton's "Wall of Fame."

Luxor headliner, comedian Carrot Top was at Hussong’s Cantina at Mandalay Bay to accept a charcoal rendering that will be added to the restaurant’s Charcoal Portrait Wall of Fame. The comedian chatted with owners Scott Frost and Jeffrey Marks, while being serenaded by Hussong’s Rock n Roll Mariachis.


Model and former contestant on Dancing with the Stars Joanna Krupa partied at Playboy Club inside Palms Casino Resort. Krupa arrived with 15 friends. Sexy Playboy Bunnies presented Krupa with the prestigious Playboy Club key. 

Friday, September 3...

Lauren “Lo” Bosworth arrived for a weekend in Vegas and headed for the LAVO’s kitchen, making a quick stop for lunch at Dos Caminos with friend Stephanie Pratt. At LAVO she donned an apron and learned how to make the restaurant’s Chicken Marsala with Executive Chef John DeLoach.

Bosworth returned to LAVO later on Friday, after having her hair and nails done in her room by stylists from Kim Vo Salon and donning a French Connection dress and Chanel purse. Joining her for dinner were friends including boyfriend Scott Hochstadt, her sister Erin and former small screen co-star Stephanie Pratt. After dinner they headed up to the club where she was surprised with a laptop shaped cake from Gimme Some Sugar.

LMFAO was also spotted at LAVO on Friday. Stefan Gordy, aka Redfoo continued the birthday celebration started at TAO’s Worship Thursday. Redfoo, the son of Berry Gordy, turned 35 at midnight Thursday night and the party continued at LAVO on Friday. Stephanie Pratt popped over to the table to deliver a happy birthday hug and kiss and the night was capped off with a birthday cake in his honor.

Saturday, September 4...

The “Twilight” wolf pack took over the sweetest spot on the Strip as Alex Meraz, Julia Jones and Tinsel Korey sunk their teeth into the delicious sweets at Sugar Factory in Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The “Twilight” trio sampled Sugar Factory’s signature Couture Pops and posed for photos with the swarms of excited fans waiting at the store.


Holly Madison spend the afternoon at Encore Beach Club with her friends and co-stars of her hit E! show Holly’s World. Joining the Peepshow star in her cabana were Laura Croft, Angel Porrino, Josh Strickland and Playmate Jayde Nicole.


Labor Day Weekend celebrations continued Saturday night at TAO with notable names taking over the hot spot.

Chelsea Handler had a pre-show dinner in TAO’s private dining room. The group of 25 included Chuy Bravo and Brad Wollack from “Chelsea Lately.”

Lauren “Lo” Bosworth, Stephanie Pratt and a group of friends including Lo’s boyfriend Scott and her sister Erin dined under the watchful eye of TAO’s Buddha. After dinner Pratt headed to see Chelsea Handler’s show and then returned to join the group in a sky box in the club.

LMFAO and the Party Rock Crew fueled up for their nightclub hosting duties with dinner and Ciroc cocktails.

Also spotted in the dining room was Chris Mintz-Plasse, Mclovin from the movie Superbad. After enjoying selections from the chef he headed upstairs to the nightclub.

Nicky Hilton and David Katzenberg stopped by the nightclub to check out DJ Vice and LMFAO, as did Will.I.Am and Apl.de.Ap from the Black Eyed Peas.

DJ Vice and LMFAO kept the holiday crowd energized, with LMFAO giving a surprise four song performance, wowing the crow with their hits.

Spotted in the club at LAVO was Angelina Pivarnick, who was on MTV’s Jersey Shore for several episodes before getting fired from the t-shirt shop where the cast worked and then being kicked off the show.

Former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson and eight friends dined at Nove Italiano inside Palms Casino Resort. After dinner, Tyson went into the kitchen to personally thank Executive Chef Geno Bernardo for an incredible experience.

Actor Verne Troyer, best known as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers series, partied inside Moon Nightclub with four friends.

Country music sensation LeAnn Rimes celebrated her 28th birthday with live-in boyfriend Eddie Cibrian at Vegas’ sexiest hotspot, Tabú Ultra Lounge. With an entourage of a dozen of their closest friends, Rimes and Cibrian hit the red carpet holding hands and with smiles on their faces, acting very much in love after slamming recent cheating allegations.

The young starlet made a beeline to the area in front of the deejay booth where she was presented with a beautiful two-tier birthday cake from Tabú.

Hundreds of excited fans and guests gathered in Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay on Saturday night to see Black Eyed Peas frontman and co-founder, will.i.am perform a celebratory DJ set to jump start the Labor Day Weekend. Also making an appearance was fellow group member apl.de.ap. The two posed for a few photos alongside Manager Polo Molino.

The world’s biggest party host, Sean “Diddy” Combs hosted the Labor Day Weekend celebration at MGM Grand’s WET REPUBLIC. The superstar made his way to the exclusive VIP bungalow filled with his entourage. As Diddy posed for photographs, he took to the mic and invited the crowd to join, asking, “Want to take a picture with me? Everyone - put your hands in the air!” Diddy continued emceeing the party asking DJ Cedric Gervais to “turn up the music, man. We’re partying!” DJs Funkagenda, Cedric Gervais and Serge Devant were definitely keeping the crowd moving as thousands of bikini-clad partiers danced poolside. 

Playboy Playmate and star of "Girls Next Door," Jayde Nicole hosted at Eva Longoria Parker's Eve nightclub. The young model-turned actress kicked off Labor Day weekend at the CityCenter nightclub with friends and fellow models including Amy Lynn Grover, Setorii Pond and Ksenia Kiselev. 

LMFAO took over the DJ booth at TAO Beach for the packed pool party.

Checking out the scene was Lauren “Lo” Bosworth, who accessorized her Tart dress with playful Party Rock gear. She was joined by her sister Erin, her boyfriend Scott and Stephanie Pratt in a cabana.

Carmen Electra hosted Labor Day Weekend at Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay. Excited fans and guests of Mandalay Bay lined up along the rail to catch a glimpse and take a photo of Electra as she made her way down the red carpet. Also making an appearance was Electra’s beau, Rob Patterson. After spending the afternoon at Moorea Beach Club, Electra retired to her 1,020 square-foot Sky View suite on the Penthouse level of Mandalay Bay, taking time to relax after her high-energy Labor Day celebration.

 

 

 

Rappers Tone Loc and Young MC celebrated Labor Day Weekend with performances at Studio 54 at MGM Grand After their performances, Young MC and Tone Loc partied until the wee hours in the morning.

Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas continued his Labor Day weekend celebration at XS nightclub inside of Encore Las Vegas. The talented artist along with good friend R&B singer/songwriter Omarion stole the show when they came on stage to welcome all of the clubgoers to the hottest nightclub on The Strip.

Reality starlets Holly Madison and Angel Porrino of E! Entertainment Television’s Holly’s World were also in attendance.

Singer Kelly Rowland (former Destiny’s Child member) closed out Labor Day weekend at Surrender Nightclub with a fifteen minute performance underneath the stars. Her performance was watched by Encore Beach Club’s resident deejay Kaskade, who performed his final set of the season earlier that day. Rowland rushed over to Kaskade following her show and gave the producer a big hug. Franco Harris, former NFL player for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks partied at Playboy Club inside Palms Casino Resort with two friends.

Joe Jackson,patriarch of the Jackson family of entertainers was also at the club.

Singer Keri Hilson performed for a packed house at Blush Boutique Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas on Sunday. Following her set, the singer hung out in the VIP area with her entourage until 3 am. 

International superstar DJ Erick Morillo rounded out the holiday Weekend on Sunday at TAO, spinning well into the early hours of Labor Day Monday. On hand to witness the epic occurrence were Chris Mintz Plasse, Stacy Keibler, Will I Am and Apl.de.Ap. Well known DJs Kaskade and Sharam were also spotted at the owner’s table checking out the set. Following a delicious dinner at Pearl, MGM Grand’s Studio 54 welcomed pop star Taylor Dayne Sunday for a night of throwback partying.

Arriving at her exclusive VIP table, Taylor enjoyed 80s hits spun by DJ Robert Oleysyck before taking to the stage for a special performance. Following her performance, DJ Robert Oleysyck spun Journey’s cult classic “Don’t Stop Believin” while the dance party raged on through the night.

Music producer, performer and Black Eyed Peas’ frontman will.i.am brought his electric beats to the turntables at MGM Grand’s WET REPUBLIC for a Labor Day Weekend celebration. will.i.am entered the ultra pool party with R&B singer Omarion and fellow Black Eyed Peas member apl.de.ap. Rounding out the Sunday DJ lineup was house music DJ and producer Sharam.

Actress Tiffany Hines, who currently stars as “Jaden” in the CW’s “Nikita,” was also in attendance.
