The Bronx Wanderers Open Their New Residency at Westgate

After having to close their show at another venue due to the pandemic, the very popular band, The Bronx Wanderers are finally back on a Las Vegas stage, performing in their new home, The Cabaret at The Westgate in Las Vegas.

Having been a big fan of the band since I first saw my fellow, former Bronxites perform in Las Vegas several years ago, I was thrilled to be in the audience along with several of my colleagues and local entertainers for the press night opening on October 26.

Making a surprise appearance was singer Tony Orlando, a longtime friend and fan of Vinny Aldinolfi, the leader/frontman of The Bronx Wanderers that includes Vinny's sons Vin A, on vocals, guitar and keyboard, Nick on drums, and backup musicians Joe Bari, Fernando Tort and David Braun. The beloved entertainer flew in especially for this event and introduced the band before they took to the stage.

As usual, the Bronx Wanderers were in top form, delivering a high energy performance complete with great music, showmanship, spectacular vocals and instrumental talent as they take audiences on a musical journey with chart topping pop/rock classics from the 60's and up to the present that includes oldies but goodies from Dion and The Belmonts, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, The Beatles, Queen, to Bruno Mars as well as some new additions to their show.

The charismatic, charming, and very likable Vinny also takes time between songs to share his inspirational back story from his earlier life that entailed growing up on the streets of The Bronx, raising a family, to music industry executive and ultimately, fulfilling his dream as a Las Vegas headliner. It's his genuine, heartfelt, personal story as well as The Bronx Wanderers' superb renditions of the music we've all come to love that creates a special connection with everyone that has seen them perform.

To reiterate what I've said and written about this band before, I can't rave enough about The Bronx Wanderers and totally understand why they have built such a huge following of loyal fans from across the country. If you haven't yet seen this terrific band perform, go catch their show at their new residency inside The Westgate. I promise, you are in for an uplifing evening of exceptional, first rate musical entertainment by an immensely talented group of musicians that will have you singing along and dancing in the aisles.

The Bronx Wanderers perform at the Westgate Cabaret Monday - Thursday 8:00pm | Sunday, Friday & Saturday – 5:30pm. Ticket Prices start at $49.95 (plus taxes & fees). Ages 5 and older.

Circa’s owners, Derek and Greg Stevens, acquired the sign in 2016, later restoring her and placing her as a centerpiece to Circa’s lobby. She can now be seen kicking her mechanical boot to welcome visitors to her namesake cocktail lounge, Vegas Vickie’s.

The Beverly Theater Marks Start of Construction with Uncommon GroundTaking Event

On Friday, October 29, The Beverly Theater officially broke ground on S.6th and Bonneville, marking the start of construction on Las Vegas’ only indie film house and performance theater coming to downtown. Featuring live performances, a logo reveal, surprise guests and more, the event celebrated the development milestone for the fully funded project that is expected to debut in mid-late 2022.

With live music provided by headlining composer and Raiders bandleader Dave Perrico joined by the neighboring Las Vegas Academy Jazz Band, the event began with Kip Kelly, the founding creative director of the new theater, serving as master of ceremonies. He revealed The Beverly Theater logo, announced the upcoming availability of it as an NFT, explained what a GroundTaking is, and proclaimed that all in attendance would now be known as the official Beverly Theater Groundskeepers and would be presented with a commemorative jar of dirt to take with them as proof. Immediately following, congratulatory remarks were made by Rory Reid, Chief Executive Officer of The Rogers Foundation and Beverly Rogers, Chairman of the Board, The Rogers Foundation and Ward 3 City Councilwoman Olivia Diaz before the traditional and ceremonial shovel photos were taken.

The event concluded with a surprising appearance by what seemed to be a bungling construction worker but was actually the talented RJ Owens who is widely known as Bebe Francois from Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere. Owens masterfully fooled the crown and ultimately performed a disruptive poetic recitation to the enthusiastic crowd.
