FANTASY Celebrates 19th Anniversary and Debut of 2019 Calendar

The stunning ladies of Fantasy, the sexy adult revue at the Luxor Hotel & Casino celebrated their 19 year anniversary and debut of the show’s 2019 calendar, “The Golden Goddesses of FANTASY” on Thursday evening, October 11.

In honor of the occasion, the traditional red carpet was swapped for celebratory gold. The showgirls dazzled in black and gold dresses as they posed for photographers and showed off their new calendar pages. The calendar features the gorgeous cast of Fantasy wearing nothing but gold tape with a new, edgy look created by Tape Artist Joel Alvarez, the famed stylist behind “The Black Tape Project,” and photography by renowned photographer, Oscar Picazo.

Alvarez and Picazo also walked the carpet and posed for photos along with the show's creator, producer /choreographer Anita Mann, “Tanked” star Irwin “The General” Raymer, BMX rider and television personality Ricardo Laguna, Magician Seth Grabel, the cast of X Burlesque, the cast of “FRIENDS! The Musical Parody” and the cast of Thunder From Down Under.

Prior to the celebratory performance of Fantasy in the Atrium Showroom, a pre-show reception was held in the Velvet Room where guests were treated to signature cocktails, passed hors d'oeuvres, and mingled with the cast.

Before the curtain went up, Anita Mann arrived on stage to voice her thanks to the amazing cast, crew, and Las Vegas audiences throughout the years, before being presented with a bouquet of roses, to which Mann quipped that Rose was her middle name. Mann then stated that the night was being dedicated to celebrity journalist, Robin Leach, who recently passed away.

During the show, lead singer, blonde bombshell Lorena Peril, impressed the audience with her powerhouse vocals and vivacious personality, while comedian Sean E Cooper provided plenty of laughter. New numbers choreographed by dance caption, Yesi, were revealed and a dramatic silk routine by Isabella, joined the show’s exciting lineup of choreography including opening and finale numbers by Emmy award-winning choreographer, Mandy Moore.

Wth the release of the calendar, FANTASY will be donating a portion of the proceeds to Keep Memory Alive, exclusively supporting the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, in memory of Robin Leach.

“The Golden Goddesses of FANTASY” 2019 calendar, priced at $20, is now available for purchase at various retail locations throughout Luxor, including the Atrium Showroom.

Food is Art ‘Denim and Diamonds’ Event Raises More than $200,000 for the ALS Association Nevada Chapter

Through the generosity and support of local community and headline sponsors, Golden Entertainment, Inc., William Hill, United Healthcar,Konami Gaming, and Southern Glazers' Wine and Spirits, the Food is Art “Denim and Diamonds’ dine-around raised more than $200,000 for the ALS Association Nevada Chapter on Friday, Oct. 5.

“I am so proud of how far we have come with Food is Art,” said Steve Arcana, event chair and chief operating officer of Golden Entertainment, Inc. “The caliber of talent between world-class chefs and sommeliers who participated this year is second to none. Plus, the support that we received from our sponsors and friends is incredible. Together, we are committed to providing much needed support to ALS patients in Nevada.”

Held at Keep Memory Alive Event Center, Food is Art showcased the cuisine of local chefs from 12 Las Vegas restaurants, including: Top of the World at Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower, Sage at Aria, Robert Irvine’s Public House, The Vineyard Ristorante at Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin, Nev., SG Bar, Esther’s Kitchen, Aria Patisserie, Sambalatte and Bandito Latin Kitchen & Cantina. More than 450 guests, dressed in this year’s theme of “denim and diamonds,” enjoyed live entertainment by Franks and Deans while sampling cuisine paired with wine selected by award-winning sommeliers.

“We are grateful beyond words for the generosity our community displayed through this year’s Food is Art fundraiser,” said April Mastroluca, executive director of the ALS Association Nevada Chapter.“The money raised by this event will help support so many local Las Vegans who are afflicted with ALS, a heartbreaking disease that has robbed them of their ability to walk, to talk and even blink an eye.”

Top-selling auction items include a 16-person suite at T-Mobile Arena for a Vegas Golden Knights game with catering, provided by Golden Entertainment, which earned a winning bid of $15,000; and dinner for 20 prepared in the top bidder’s home by the chefs from Aria, Bellagio and Get Fresh, including champagne and caviar, which earned a winning bid of $10,000.

A record-breaking one-day total for ALS in Nevada, the money raised will assist the non-profit organization in its mission to serve all persons and their families living with and fighting ALS in Nevada one person at a time. ALS in Nevada provides much-needed programs that offer emotional, physical, and financial assistance and currently serves 90 people with ALS in Nevada.

The Magic of Discovery Raises More Than $300,000 for Discovery Children’s Museum’s Educational Programs

Guests dressed to impress in their best Rock Star Red Carpet attire, for a night centered around the children of our community. The event raised over $300,000 to help fund educational programs in the Las Vegas Valley as well as strengthen DISCOVERY’S programming.

Guests of the gala enjoyed cocktails provided by Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits while perusing the silent auction. The evening was full of dancing, a live musical performance by the Bella Electric Strings, specialized air brush tattoos, YouthWorks interactive presentations, and the opportunity to bid on once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

During the evening, a surprise donation was announced when Judy Cebulko, a DISCOVERY Children’s Museum board member, donated $10,000 to DISCOVERY Children’s Museum in honor of Jeri and Rick Crawford, as well as an apology for missing the gala and their award. Additionally, 50 #VegasStronger hats were sold at $100 each, to commemorate an almost one-year anniversary. 

“The Magic of DISCOVERY Gala is a remarkable event that allows the city to come together and raise critical funding to support the museum’s exhibits and programs. The $300,000 raised this year will go a long way as we continue to offer new and interactive educational programs for the community,” said Melissa Kaiser, Chief Executive Officer of DISCOVERY Children’s Museum. “In addition to raising funds for our educational programs, we have the opportunity to recognize remarkable members of the community – such as Jeri and Rick Crawford – for their impact on the community and commitment to developing youth programs throughout the valley, which is what the museum stands for.”

Because of their outstanding contributions toward strengthening education and improving the well-being of children throughout Las Vegas, Jeri and Rick Crawford were recipients of the 19th annual DISCOVERY Children’s Museum’s 2018 Great Friend to Kids Award. The Crawford’s have been long time supporters in strengthening youth initiatives and arts education throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

The 2018 Gala Committee Co-Chairs were Carrie Carter Cooper and Lynda Tache; Gala Committee Members included Judy Cebulko, Jennifer Curland, Kami Dempsey, Todd Lefkowitz, Ashley Levin, Boyd Nelson, Emily Nelson, Carrie Stamps, Stacie Michaels and Ashlee Washington. The Board of Trustees included Chair, Stacie Michaels, Vice Chair, Pat Skorkowsky, Treasurer, Boyd Nelson, and Secretary, Andrea Smith.

X Rocks Celebrates Five-Year Anniversary at Bally’s Las Vegas

X Rocks celebrated five rocking years in Las Vegas, Saturday, Oct. 6 at Bally’s Las Vegas. Guests were treated to a VIP red carpet reception inside The Back Room, before sitting down to enjoy the stimulating, high-voltage Las Vegas show that combines sensual dance routines and pulsating rock hits. X Rocks also announced a five-year extension at Bally’s Las Vegas, where it has performed since 2017.

Sixth Annual "Style with a Cause" Raises Funds to Benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates

More than 200 fashion-forward guests filled The Gramercy Residences on Wednesday evening, October 3, for the sixth annual style with a cause (SWAC) benefiting the Court Appointed Special Advocate's (CASA) programs that help identify and fund the individual needs of abused and neglected children in foster care in Clark County.

The event kicked off with a cocktail reception featuring tasty bites provided by Pinches Tacos, DW Bistro, Kitchen Table Squared, and cocktails by Tito's Handmade Vodka. During the reception, guests enjoyed interactive activations, including organization classes hosted by Melanie Walker and the Neat Method team, dry stylings by Vent Blotique, a temporary tattoo parlor, psychic and spiritual readings provided by Dallisa Hocking and her spiritual tribe of Spirit & Spark, and an art wall where guests were invited to write down what empowers them.

Host and SWAC Founder Jenna Doughton welcomed everyone as they took their seats for a fashion show featuring the latest fall trends presented by Saks Fifth Avenue. Attendees also followed the journey of this year's beauty transformation recipient, Verise Campbell from CASA, as footage was shown of her makeover. Her final look was then unveiled as she walked down the runway revealing the transformation provided by Tadashi, Kelly Cardenas Salon, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Kendra Scott.

To continue the empowerment of the evening, three local unsung "sheroes" were then surprised as they were honored for their outstanding commitment to bettering the community.

"Every year style with a cause gets bigger, and it is all thanks to our wonderful community," said Doughton. "One day I hope style with a cause becomes a global vision that will uplift and empower women everywhere."

Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas continued its 15th annual Oktoberfest celebration as talented performer MARK SHUNOCK brought his high-octane energy to the Hofbräuhaus stage on Friday, Oct. 12. On Saturday, Oct. 13, beloved long-time Vegas entertainer  Chris Phillips, lead singer of ZOWIE BOWIE led the keg-tapping festivities and even jumped on stage to sing "Rock This Town" for guests. An extra special treat for the evening, friends sang Happy Birthday to Phillips as he blew out the candles on his surprise birthday cake.

FREED'S BAKERY, the popular bakery and subject of Food Network’s hit show, “Vegas Cakes,” celebrated the grand opening of its new location at 6475 N. Decatur Blvd. in Northwest Las Vegas, FREED'S DESSERT SHOP on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Family and managers, Max Jacobson-Fried, Joani Fried and Sarah Fusco, were joined by Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick for a ceremonial ribbon cutting. The District B representative welcomed Freed’s Bakery’s newest location with a proclamation and ‘Welcome to the City’ certificates.

Continuing its milestone 40th year serving children coping with cancer in Southern Nevada, CANDLELIGHTERS CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION OF NEVADA has received a GRANT FROM THE BANK OF AMERICA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION in the amount of $10,000. The grant will be used to assist Candlelighters in its efforts to provide emotional support and quality of life programs to families affected by childhood cancer. 

SLS Las Vegas® has begun more than $100 million in resort renovations that will enhance the casino floor, upgrade hotel rooms and renovate existing pool and entertainment venues. Planning for the reimagined guest experience began in April of this year when Alex Meruelo, founder of the Meruelo Group and owner of the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nev., acquired the iconic casino property. Room upgrades are already underway and enhancements to the casino floor began Monday, Oct. 8.

Legendary rock band STYX—Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James “JY” Young (co-founder, vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass), along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo, return to the Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at 8 p.m. where they will perform two sets in one night. Tickets start at $49.95 plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m.

In celebration of BELLAGIO's 20th anniversary, the resort’s renowned pastry team created a CHOCOLATE SCULPTURE OF THE FAMOUS ZEBRA CHARACTER FROM the exquisite theatrical production, “O” BY CIRQUE DU SOLEIL. Inspired by the water-themed show, the chocolate sculpture weaves artistry, surrealism and romance together to symbolize the beauty of theater, bringing to life a breathtaking vision that reflects the award-winning spectacle. The delectable sculpture will be on display at Bellagio Pâtisserie through Chinese New Year.

TROPICANA LAS VEGAS will turn its EXTERIOR TOWER LIGHTS PINK, Tuesday, October 16, 2018 through Sunday, October 28, to recognize BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual health campaign organized every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. 

Freakling Bros. is proud to celebrate equality, diversity and inclusion with its second annual FREAKLING LGBTQ NIGHT to kick off Pride Week 2018. Freakling Bros. stands proudly alongside the LGBTQ community and as a token of that alliance, will offer special 2-for-1 tickets of the same type at the Trilogy of Terror, as well as a free rainbow glow necklace, on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

Caesars Entertainment has announced that JIMMY KIMMEL'S COMEDY CLUB will open at The LINQ Promenade in Las Vegas in the Spring of 2019. The new club will showcase comedians ranging from up-and-coming talent to household names curated by Kimmel and his team in a venue designed by Jimmy and his comedian friends.The 8,000 square feet venue will be open seven nights a week, with a bar open daily and shows offered nightly. The latest addition to The LINQ Promenade, Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club will be located across from Brooklyn Bowl, and near the High Roller – the largest observation wheel in the world.

Motley Brews’ fall beer celebration, DOWNTOWN BREW FESTIVAL, has announced its entertainment lineup for the seventh annual event, which will return to the Clark Country Amphitheater on Saturday, Oct. 20. Downtown Brew Festival will host renowned entertainers including songwriter and producer Ryan Whyte Maloney; rapper and songwriter Mike Xavier; and musician Vin A.,who performs nightly on the Strip with the Bronx Wanderers. Margaritaville Las Vegas Restaurant will once again host its annual pre-concert pool party at Flamingo Las Vegas’ GO Pool Dayclub to coincide with Jimmy Buffett’s concert on Saturday, October 20th. Renowned pianist PHILLIP FORTENBERRY will bring his masterful piano playing, exciting storytelling, beautiful music and southern charm home to Las Vegas for one night only in his newest SOLO CONCERT, “GIVE MY REGARDS” at The Smith Center’s 244-seat Myron’s Cabaret Jazz showroom on Monday, Oct. 22, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets range from $25 to $45 and can be purchased at The Smith Center Box Office.

CANDLELIGHTERS CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION OF NEVADA hosts its spookiest celebration of the year, the 20th annual HALLOWEEN BASH at Ellis Island Hotel on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The annual private event is held for Candlelighters families whose diagnosed child is aged 12 and under, providing an opportunity to enjoy a fall festival with carnival games, bounce houses, prizes, dinner, trick-or-treating and new to this year’s event, a petting zoo, in a safe, fun environment.Ellis Island Hotel has hosted the event since its inception two decades ago, providing rooms, event space, tents and food and beverage for the 700-plus guests expected to attend. In addition to serving as a quality of life event for Candlelighters families, the Halloween Bash serves as a fundraiser for the foundation. Local companies, individuals and organizations sponsor nearly 100 different rooms at Ellis Island Hotel, which they decorate and hand out candy to Candlelighters children.

FRIENDS! The Musical Parody, the comedic spin-off of the hit TV show that dazzled off-Broadway audiences, will make its Las Vegas premiere at the D Las Vegas and officially open on October 26, 2018.

Exhibits and tunnels transform into spooky chambers and corridors with trick-or-treaters, costumes and jack-o-lanterns as HALLOW-REEF returns to SHARKREEF AQUARIUM AT MANDALAY BAY. Guests (and ghosts) can celebrate the Halloween season while exploring unique creatures of land and sea. On Friday, Oct. 26, in honor of Community Day, the American Red Cross will be on site for visitors interested in donating blood. Guests 17 years and older (or 16 years old with parental consent) who come out will receive complimentary admission to Hallow-Reef and parking on the day of donation. To make an appointment, guests can visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter sponsor code: Shark Reef Mandalay Bay.

Also on October 26, children 12 and under who visit Shark Reef in Halloween costumes will receive FREE aquarium admission and sweet treats. The fun continues October 27 and 28 with a discounted Shark Reef admission of $7 for children 12 and under in costume as well as contests for the best animal costume and best overall costume. Winners will be treated with a FREE birthday party package at Shark Reef Aquarium.

Join in the fight for Alzheimer's first survivor at the 2018 LAS VEGAS WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Town Square Las Vegas,  6605 S. Las Vegas Blvd. The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Individuals and teams can register to sign up at LasVegasAlzheimersWalk.org. 8:30 a.m. Is the opening ceremony and Promise Garden planting followed by the walk that begins at 9 a.m. Participants will learn more about Alzheimer's disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies, support programs, and services. Walk participants also honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony. This year's event will be emceed by local news personalities Sherry Swensk and John Huck. All funds from the Walk further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.

To show appreciation for the local Las Vegas community, Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (located at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino) has extended the promotion for locals to receive FREE exhibit admission all day, every Tuesday, through NOVEMBER 13. The promotion includes a commemorative collectible Marvel’s Avengers character badge. ($8.00 service fee per person. Must show Nevada State I.D.) Tickets may be purchased in person at Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.

Then on Nevada Day, Friday, October 26, local families are invited to TRICK-OR-TREAT through the attraction all day during operating hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There is no school for CCSD students, and a portion of the proceeds from all tickets and retail sales for the day will benefit the Clark County School District’s S.T.E.M. education initiatives. Admission for locals is half-price the regular ticket price for adults and children, with children under 3 free (Must show Nevada State I.D.) Children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero, however all costumes are welcome. All trick-or-treaters will receive a special Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. bag to put all of their goodies in as they visit each exhibit room throughout the attraction. FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE, the five-block entertainment district located in historic downtown Las Vegas, will transform into a mischievous haunt inhabited by the walking dead, zombies and creatures of the night during ROCK OF HORROR, the can’t-be-missed Halloween extravaganza Oct. 26 – 31. Additionally, brave souls are encouraged to explore the inner workings of the newest zombie-themed walk-through attraction in downtown Las Vegas, “Fear the Walking Dead Survival.” Inspired by AMC’s hit TV series, “Fear the Walking Dead™,” every element of the multi-sensory attraction transports guests into a zombie apocalyptic world through a thrilling combination of motion rides, mazes, interactive videogames and non-stop fun.

INSCRIPTAGRAPHS MEMORABILIA the valley’s premier sports and celebrity memorabilia company located inside Caesars Palace, adjacent to the race and sports book, will host a public autograph signing and meet-and-greet with boxing champion, FLOYD MAYWEATHER, from 1 until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, and again on, Saturday, Nov. 17. Mayweather, who recently announced his plans to fight in Tokyo later this year prior to a highly-anticipated Pacquiao rematch, will be signing a handful of specialty merchandise including boxing trunks, boxing gloves, championship belts and a variety of iconic small and large photos.  Guests also have the option to bring their own product in for the legendary boxer to sign as well. Signed memorabilia product packages complete with a free meet-and-greet are available for purchase on-site starting at $249.

THE PLAZA HOTEL & CASINO in downtown Las Vegas will host a HALLOWEEN BASH under its dome on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear their spookiest costumes to the party that will feature a DJ playing popular hits, carnival food including caramel apples, hot dogs and nachos, outdoor bars with drink specials, and monster wrestling by Luche Libre Las Vegas.The party is FREE and open to guests 21 years of age and older.

University of Nevada, Las Vegas students, faculty, staff and alumni can receive FREE ENTRY TO SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN OPEN, Oct. 31 through Nov. 4, with their UNLV RebelCard. Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, Las Vegas’ only PGA TOUR event, will take place Oct. 29 through Nov. 4 at TPC Summerlin. UNLV students, faculty, staff and alumni wishing to attend the tournament can receive a free ticket to each day of tournament play, Oct. 31 through Nov. 4, by showing their UNLV RebelCard or by presenting the email offer sent from the UNLV Foundation to the tournament ticket trailer at TPC Summerlin’s main entrance.

Grammy Award-winning artist Lenny Kravitz enjoyed lunch at one of the world’s finest Greek restaurants, Estiatorio Milos at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Spotted just hours before his performance at The Cosmopolitan’s flashy live music venue The Chelsea, Kravitz dined with a small group of friends, including legendary lead singer Anthony Kiedis of the famous rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Kravitz was in Las Vegas as part of his new ‘Raise Vibration’ tour.

UFC champion Dominick “The Destroyer” Reyes celebrated his victorious match against Ovince St. Preux with an after party at Chateau Nightclub & Roofto, .located at Paris Las Vegas. Also in attendance was MMA fighter Brian Ortega and coach Joe “Daddy” Stevenson.
