Craig Ranch Regional Park Amphitheater in North Las Vegas Celebrates Grand Opening

Craig Ranch Regional Park Amphitheater, the newest live entertainment venue in North Las Vegas, celebrated its grand opening on Friday, October 9. Dignitaries from the City of North Las Vegas including North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee, Director of Neighborhood and Leisure Services Cass Palmer, and a representative from Senator Dean Heller’s office, began the weekend’s festivities with a ribbon cutting, where the speakers highlighted the importance of the venue to the North Las Vegas community. Afterwards, a performance by Yesterday: A Beatles Tribute Band brought enthusiastic guests to their feet for a night of dancing under the Las Vegas sky.

With over 3,000 seats, the amphitheater is open to the whole community.

Featuring grand opening live performances during the month of October from WAR (October 10) Sammy Kershaw (October 23)and Paul Rodriguez (October 24), the amphitheater offers an entertainment lineup under the stars for the whole family to enjoy. Behind the performance stage, guests can enjoy the view of a stunning mountain backdrop overlooking the Lone Mountains and Craig Ranch Regional Park’s pond.

The Range 702 Celebrates Grand Opening of New Facility

The Range 702 celebrated the grand opening of their brand new 17,000 square-foot custom-built building located at 5999 Dean Martin Drive on Friday, October 23.

 To commemorate the debut of the state of the art facility, executives accompanied by the Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon shooting along with the traditional ribbon cutting. At this new location, guests have the chance to learn about the importance of gun safety while participating in a variety of educational services including concealed weapons permit classes, intro to handguns and firearm orientation, classes customized for women, a tactical rifle/carbine course and armed guard certification.

Kicking off Halloween weekend in Las Vegas, comedian CARROT TOP unveiled his own shrunken head Thursday evening, October 29,  at THE GOLDEN TIKI, located in Chinatown, Las Vegas.  Managing Partner Branden Powers was on hand to present the honor to the headlining Strip performer.

"This is amazing," said Carrot Top. "Now I always have a friend to drink with at The Golden Tiki!"  Said Powers, "We just thought, what better way to salute one of our favorite performers than by preserving him forever in our Headhunter Village."

Carrot Top loved the likeness so much, he posed with it for several minutes, before requesting that Powers have a duplicate made for his showroom at the Luxor Hotel & Casino. The head was crafted over a four week process by artists commissioned by the Golden Tiki, and is expected to be the first in a series of celebrity shrunken heads on display at Vegas' iconic new Tiki revival bar.

CHEFS FOR KIDS recently received a $4,054.00 DONATION FROM WHOLE FOODS MARKET TOWN SQUARE following its 5 percent shopping day. Chefs for Kids supports Nutrition education in the Clark County School District through the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. The group works with second grade students in under served areas teaching children how to make healthier lifestyle food choices. The organization will serve breakfast at 13 schools in 2015 – that’s almost 9,000 breakfasts! Donations support educational training, breakfasts and approximately Thanksgiving meals for 150 families each year. As well, a Christmas Eve breakfast with gifts and Mother’s Day luncheon to the families at Shade Tree Shelter.

As the 50th Golden Anniversary nears, the evolution of CAESARS PALACE LAS VEGAS continues with the reimagining of the iconic hotel’s original tower, the Roman Tower, to be completely reborn as the new JULIUS TOWER. The $75 million Las Vegas hotel tower renovation is part of an ongoing brand transformation of the Las Vegas resort that has welcomed millions of visitors from its center Strip vantage point beginning August 5, 1966.  Expected to welcome its first guests January 1, 2016 with rates starting at $149, the new 587-room Julius Tower will feature new design-savvy, modern rooms and suites. The Julius Tower is the latest piece of a $1 billion investment, cementing Caesars Palace as the premier resort at the center of the Las Vegas Strip.

THE FULFILLMENT FUND OF LAS VEGAS, a college access organization that provides students with the support necessary to graduate from high school and go on to college, has received a $10 MILLION DONATION FROM THE ENGELSTAD FAMILY FOUNDATION designed to help defray the costs of pursuing higher education or trade school in Nevada.

The donation was announced on Monday, October 26, at a pep rally at Chaparral High School, one of three high schools currently being served by the Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas. Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts and Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy Del Sol High School are the other two.Through its partnerships at high schools, the Fulfillment Fund provides students with both individual advisement and class instruction. The Engelstad Family Foundation will provide financial resources to students who meet the qualifying criteria and graduate in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

In response to an imminent need for BLOOD DONATIONS in southern Nevada, ALIANTE CASINO & HOTEL & SPA will host a community blood drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, inside the Scottsdale Ballroom. UNITED BLOOD SERVICES, a nonprofit community blood center, will be on hand to facilitate safe and convenient blood donations for residents 17 years of age or older. Refreshments will be served. All donors will receive a coupon for a complimentary meal at Aliante’s Medley Buffet, along with a two-for-one admission to Discovery Children’s Museum.

The Board of Directors of LAS VEGAS LATIN CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL INC., a nonprofit community organization dedicated to promoting the contributions of the city’s Latin, Caribbean and West Indian community, will be hosting a COMMUNITY RECOGNITION EVENT from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, at Florida Café, Cuban Bar and Grill located at 1401 S Las Vegas Blvd.

The honorees for the “Outstanding Community Service Recognition” include Florida Café, Cuban Bar and Grill; Las Vegas Police Officer Adrian Hunt; and Rennie Roopchand, a native from Trinidad and Tobago who is currently the general manager at Towbin Dodge and Prestige Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Las Vegas. They will be joined by Masqueraders from Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Belize, Jamaica and the Central American Caribbean Coast. Local city and state government representatives will also be in attendance.

The Las Vegas Latin Caribbean Festival Inc. will host Festival Weekend Experience fromThursday Oct. 29, to Sunday Nov. 1. More information is available at www.lvcaribfest.com.

MIKE PRITCHARD, also known as PRITCH, will host a SPECIAL VIEWING PARTY OF ESPN' FILMS' PEABODY AND EMMY AWARD WINNING 303 FOR 30 SERIES FOR “THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MAC” from 6 – 8 p.m on Tuesday, November 3 at Hi Scores Bar Arcade, 65 South Stephanie in Henderson.  This special documentary will tell the story of Coach Bill McCartney’s University of Colorado football program. The film is an exploration of the coach’s provocative approach running the Buffalos to a national championship in 1990.  As the team MVP that year, Pritch has a special feature within the two-hour broadcast in addition to being part of a larger discussion with teammates.  On Nov. 5, Mike Pritchard is set to be inducted into the University of Colorado’s Hall of Fame. Pritch will be on hand prior to the broadcast to sign items that fans bring from his former teams: University of Colorado, Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks or the  Atlanta Falcons. The event is open to the public, 21+.
 
The PLAZA HOTEL & CASINO will celebrate the GRAND OPENING OF A SPECIAL POP UP GALLERY on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. featuring the numerous sports themed items that once decorated the iconic Las Vegas Club Hotel & Casino. The special grand opening event for the general public includes a drawing to win one of the historic pieces.

Hundreds of sports related items will be available to the public to view and purchase. The diverse collection includes items ranging in price, starting at $25, and vary by sport. Items include a signed Michael Jordan North Carolina Tar Heels basketball jersey; a framed Pete Rose #14 Montreal Expos jersey, flanked by a photo of the baseball great as a Philadelphia Phillie and his official Cincinnati Reds baseball card; two official seats from Comiskey Stadium in Chicago; and an autographed bat collection from the 1946-1958 World Series games.

Beginning Nov. 4, Las Vegas Club Sports Memorabilia Gallery will be open from 3 to 11 p.m., seven days a week.

The Plaza Hotel & Casino will donate 10 percent of every sale in the gallery to the UNLV Libraries Special Collections that collects unique, historical materials documenting the development of Las Vegas, its significant role in gaming and entertainment and as an urban landscape in 21st century America.

SEXXY, the award-winning sensual topless revue celebrates its 200th show with the addition of a new state-of-the-art lighting and sound beginning with the a new 7 pm show Tuesday, November 3.   SEXXY is performed Tuesday through Saturday inside the Westgate Cabaret at the renowned Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. Tickets are $39.95 for general admission and $59.95 for VIP, plus taxes and fees.  Guests must be 18 years or older.

Renowned comedian TIM ALLEN will return to The Mirage Friday, Nov. 6 as part of the resort’s Aces of Comedy series. Showtime is 10 pm. Tickets start at $59.99 and is available at the Terry Fator box office.

Comedian and actor LAVELL CRAWFORD brings his original stand-up comedy show to the Suncoast Showroom Nov. 7 and 8. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are available from $20.18 plus tax and fees, and can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming box.

Famed chocolatier, ETHEL M CHOCOLATES, will once again light up the night with its 22nd ANNUAL HOLIDAY CACTUS GARDEN on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 5-8 p.m. The countdown to the lighting of more than half a million colorful lights will take place at approximately 6 p.m. at the Henderson Factory and Cactus Garden location.  One of Las Vegas’ favorite radio hosts, Mercedes of MIX 94.1, will emcee the event again this year with holiday entertainment provided by Las Vegas Strip performers Human Nature and the Jabbawockeez as well as Sin City Opera.

While the Holiday Cactus Lighting event is free and open to guests of all ages, tickets are required for admission. Starting Nov. 2, a limited number of tickets will be available at the Ethel M Chocolates factory in Henderson. A family four-pack of tickets will be offered in exchange for non-perishable food items to be donated to Three Square Food Bank, or a toy donation for HELP of Southern Nevada.

In addition to the awe-inspiring lighting, the evening will feature holiday festivities including photos with Santa, chocolate samples, face painters, balloon artists, raffles and more. Families are welcome to take their own Santa photos for free, but a professional photographer will also be on hand taking and selling images for $10 each.

The Ethel M Holiday Cactus Garden will be open every evening through Jan. 1 and is free to the public (no pets please). The garden will glow nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Additionally, visitors can peek into the factory where Ethel M Chocolates are crafted using time-honored methods and only the finest, fresh ingredients.

Fresh from his success on “America’s Got Talent” and following record-breaking ticket sales throughout North America on his first U.S. tour, PIFF THE MAGIC DRAGON will finally be debuting his long awaited one-hour solo show beginning Monday, Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. inside Flamingo Las Vegas. Piff and Mr. Piffles, the World’s Only Magic Performing Chihuahua, will perform a selection of their greatest hits from a repertoire that stretches over six previous critically acclaimed solo shows, with each routine featuring their signature approach to conjuring that puts a new twist on the traditional magic show.

Celebrate the holidays with Piff’s Piffmas Piff-Tacular, which will run Monday, Dec.21 through Wednesday, Dec. 30, giving Piff a chance to take a break from the road and spread festive joy and good cheer like a particularly irritating rash. Madonna hosted her Official Rebel Heart Tour After Party at Marquee Nightclub in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas . Upon arriving the superstar took to the stage where she danced with DJ Lunice and gave a shoutout to the crowd sending the packed nightclub into a frenzy.  Madonna and her Rebel Heart Tour dancers then took over The Library inside Marquee where they danced and relaxed post show.
