Nudist Expo Held at Alexis Park
There are all sorts of interesting expos in Las Vegas and on June first, I attended the Nudist Expo at Alexis Park sponsored by Nudist Clubhouse.com.
No, there were no naked people there - just exhibitors promoting their resorts and passions.
Nudist Club House Reps were on hand to answer questions about the site.
I first visited with Brian Spence who is CEO of Nudistclubhouse.com and the organizer of the expo. He explained that Nudist Clubhouse is like Facebook for nudists. Folks joining the online community have an opportunity to join discussion groups and share photos journal entries and events. It also provides links to nudist clubs and resorts. Check out the site at www.nudistclubhouse.com.
The American Association of Nude Recreation or AANR bills itself as”the credible voice of reason for nude recreation since 1931.” Jim Smock, Executive Director of the group, explained that nude recreation is a family affair. He feels that clothing optional recreation is a trend of our times and that nude recreation helps you shed stress and relax. And, hey -- traveling to a clothes-free destination allows you to pack less and relax more. For more information see www.aanr.com.
Speaking of destinations, much of the Expo was dominated by resorts or other travel spots.
Hidden Beach is an all inclusive five star resort
Hidden Beach, located in the Mexican Mayan Rivera, promotes itself as the world’s only five star all inclusive nudist resort. Alejandro Alegue, their sales manager, told me that the resort has only 44 rooms and features gourmet food and totally upscale amenities. All the rooms face the ocean. In addition, Alegue said that guests at Hidden Beach have access to the restaurants and other amenities at the popular El Dorado Seaside Suites which boasts six Gourmet Inclusive restaurants and is right next door. Many of the expo attendees attended a barbeque that evening—sans clothes. And that is the naked truth.
