AVN CELEBRATES 30 YEARS IN STYLE
The AVN awards program can not compete with the Motion Pictures Academy Awards in terms of publicity, but it can sure compete with the awards in terms of pure fun and glitz. The show was held this year on January 19th at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Kind of ties in when you think about the name of the venue and the industry celebrating there.
The Award Show is the brainchild of AVN(Adult Video News) Magazine which was founded by Paul Fishbein in 1983. Today, the magazine features reviews of the Adult Entertainment Industry’s (referred to by many as porn) new movie releases, games and toys.
The publicty says that, “For 30 years, the AVN Awards Show has honored the very best in adult entertainment, shining the spotlight on the talented people who create the mystique and fantasy of erotic entertaiment.” Well, those people turned out.

An extensive red carpet featuring over 200 performers opened the evening. WE are featuring many of those who walked the Red Carpet. Frankly, there were so many so quickly, that we weren't able to capture all the names or images. We think we got enough to satisfy your curiousity.
The Award show was hosted by Comedian April Macie and adult film stars Jesse Jane and Asa Akira. Macie did a great shop in her hosting role. She connected with her audience with a string of sexually oriented jokes and interacted with Jesse Jane and Asa Akira as they introduced the various presenters.

Well known rapper, Tyga, added to the festivities. He did a great opening number and then did a piece with The Spearmint Rhino girls from one of Las Vegas's premier Gentlemens' Clubs.

Zumanity, the edgy Cirque Du Soleil show in Vegas showcased with a featured act in the show . One of its performers did an intricate act on what can best be described as gymnastic rings—well anyway it was sexy.
And there was a whole string of winners in the various award categories. Some sound quite traditional. Best cinematography, best editing, best makeup, best special effects might fit into any video award evening. However, many are not exactly what we print in a kid friendly web site.
Steven St Croix won the best actor award for his role in Torn, while Lily Carter won the best actress award for her role in Wasteland.
Spartacus MMXII won the best movie drama parody award, while Wasteland won the best new movie drama award. The list of other winners is extensive.
For many of the 3,500 plus attendees the evening was just beginning with the Award Show. Parties continued through the night at such venues as Vinyl and Body English. This is a see and be seen evening. Rest assured that the ladies were dressed so that fans could see quite a lot of their favorite performers.
The award show returns to Vegas next year for another fun-filled night.
