A cocktail reception took place at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill prior to the show, which kicked off at 10:30 p.m. inside the Improv Showroom.  In attendance at the premiere were magician Murray Sawchuck, sleight of hand card trickster Doug “Lefty” Leferovich, BMX pro Ricardo Laguna, model and former Ms. Nevada Lisa Song, Frank Sidoris, lead guitarist from SLASH featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators and son of X Burlesque producer Angela Stabile, comedian Lenny Windsor, SEXXY’s Jennifer Romas and the sexy cast of X Burlesque, among others.

Comedy Magician Adam London Co-Hosts Successful Brookman Elementary School Guinness World Records Attempt

Brookman Elementary School’s Guinness World Records attempt was a success with 20,000+ glow sticks illuminating the school grounds on January 15, 2016. The glow sticks represented each book the students read and were tested on, with an 80 percent comprehension or better from September 2015 to January 2016. The final number of books read was 21,178.  The number of glow sticks recorded by the witnesses for Guinness Book World Records, 20,703, and the line measured 3.92 miles--pending final approval. The current world record holder is a Primary school in Australia with 9,800 glow sticks.



Comedy Magician Adam London co-hosted the Guinness World Records attempt with Alana London (Pronounced: Uh-LAY-Nuh), his wife and fourth-grade teacher at Brookman Elementary School. Adam London who performs his all-age friendly, comedy magic show at the D Las Vegas, partnered with Alana London, to sponsor the event by purchasing the glow sticks. Adam London performed for the students and their families, and the school hosted a glow themed carnival following.

“Adam had been toying around with a world record attempt of his own, and I wanted to get my students excited about reading,” Alana London said. “A light bulb went off and immediately we rallied together to get the entire school involved in breaking a record.”

“It was magic to see the smiles and hard work put forth by the students to obtain their goal,” Adam London added.

Brookman Elementary School’s "Reading Makes Us Bright" program fell within Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky’s "Read by 3" initiative, which encourages students to be able to read on grade level by third grade.

On Jan. 29, World Record Runner and Las Vegas resident HELENE NEVILLE will attempt to set yet another world record by running the perimeter of the Las Vegas Strip until she completes 135 miles. Neville will run nonstop laps between the South Strip “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign and the downtown “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, beginning at 7 a.m. and culminating 48 hours later on Jan. 31. This will be her first ever attempt to run more than 100 miles at a time, and will require super-human strength and endurance to complete.

Only a few months ago, Neville completed her record-setting run around the perimeter of the continental United States. This Strip run will represent one mile for each day she was on the road running from Maine to Washington State last summer on the final leg of her record setting transcontinental run.  In addition, Neville will be thanking the citizens of Las Vegas for all of their support throughout her cross country runs as well as their dedicated support during her multiple bouts of cancer treatment including a recent surgery just a couple of weeks ago by attempting to set another record. All of Las Vegas is invited to cheer her on along the famous Las Vegas Strip as she completes yet another record-setting event.

Rising country star and Las Vegas native SIERRA BLACK will showcase her talents with TWO FREE SHOWS at Santa Fe Station. Black, who recently released her new single “Casino,” will perform Friday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30 at Chrome Showroom. Both shows begin at 9 p.m. and guests must be 21 years or older.  Doors open at 8 p.m. for both shows and there is no cover charge. Entry is first-come, first-served and based upon venue capacity. Guests must be 21 years or older.

With the aim to be Nevada’s premier Medical marijuana dispensary, THE+SOURCE, located at 2550 S. Rainbow Blvd., Suite 8, just south of Sahara Avenue, will celebrate its grand opening at with an open house starting at noon on Saturday, Jan. 30. Joined by Senator Tick Segerblom, the owners of The+Source and its sister dispensary, Harvest of Tempe, will cut a green ribbon in celebration of the dispensary’s much-anticipated opening at 1 p.m. Also in attendance will be Dr. William Troutt, director of medical education for The+Source, who will be available for Q&A for guests, physicians and Nevada residents who want more information about how they may obtain a medical marijuana patient card.

"RAIDING THE ROCK VAULT", the hit show at Tropicana Las Vegas, welcomes to the stage REO Speedwagon lead guitarist DAVE AMATO for shows, Feb. 3-22. The legendary guitarist first attended "Raiding the Rock Vault" in December 2014, when he memorably joined the band on stage for surprise renditions of "Jukebox Hero, "Highway to Hell," and "Jump." Mixed martial arts stars converge on The Venetian® and The Palazzo® Las Vegas for the FIGHTERS ONLY EIGHTH ANNUAL WORLD MMA AWARDS on Feb. 4 and 5. Hosted by "The California Kid" Urijah Faber and Alison Haislip, the Fighters Only World MMA Awards will recognize the best athletes and moments in mixed martial arts from 2015. On Feb. 5 at 5:00 p.m., fans can rub elbows with their favorite fighters during a glamorous red carpet in The Palazzo's Waterfall Atrium. LEGENDS IN CONCERT, Las Vegas’ longest-running live tribute show, will have an all new cast at Flamingo Las Vegas this spring. NEVADA BALLET THEATRE, celebrating its 44th performance season and fourth year as Resident Ballet Company of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, presents the treasured story of CINDERELLA on Saturday, February 13 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, February 14 at 2 pm. Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend Casper Smart were spotted enjoying lunch at Carmine’s in the Forum Shops at Caesars.

 Academy Award-winning Three 6 Mafia member DJ Paul dined at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse at the  D Las Vegas  with his son, Nautica. The father and son duo were both celebrating their birthdays, and were presented with two elaborate birthday cakes fit for the occasion.  Nautica received a “Star Wars” themed birthday cake, decked with character figurines. DJ Paul was presented with a four-layer Oscar-themed cake by the D’s CEO and owner Derek Stevens and casino executive Richard Wilk.

The birthday bash continued as the duo headed to the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center for an electric pop-up EDM event with DJ trio GEIST.

Friday evening, January 15...

UFC fighter Frank Mir was spotted at Carmine's at The Forum Shops at Caesars having dinner with family.

Fashion designer and TV personality Whitney Port celebrated her friend’s upcoming nuptials at Marquee Nightclub in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The bachelorette party and bride-to-be danced the night away as DJ Eric Dlux manned the decks.

Reality show star Scott Disick enjoyed an evening out in Las Vegas at 1 OAK Nightclub inside the Mirage Hotel & Casino. He and his group got settled at a VIP table located behind the DJ Booth where DJ Ikon laid down popular tracks for clubgoers. Dropping in briefly, alongside Disick for an impromptu performance, was rapper and recording artist Post Malone, famous for his 2015 hit, “White Iverson”.

Whitney Port celebrated her friend’s upcoming nuptials Saturday night at TAO Asian Bistro where the bachelorette party enjoyed dinner before heading to their VIP table in the nightclub.

Also enjoying dinner at TAO was Scott Hoying of the a cappella group Pentatonix.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Josh Freeman celebrated his recent birthday at Marquee Nightclub. The Marquee staff delighted the NFL star with a birthday presentation complete with a celebratory cake.
